I was quite shocked at reading an article that reported the poisoning of pets in Avegno (Ticino – Switzerland).
It often happens that you are confronted with the brutality expressed against a defenseless animal, and you are always bewildered. Many times it is the exploitation that leads to the death of these creatures, which we call animals or even worse, productive animals, which are kept in captivity within structures desired by human beings.
Other times, they are acts of criminality towards them, or acts of poaching where the victims are amputated to sell souvenirs or resold in full to unscrupulous buyers. These are acts of pure delinquency, not merely of “cowardice”, and therefore should be punished in an exemplary manner.
We do not minimize the question: a person who comes to that, must be deeply disturbed in his soul and consequently should be subjected to a serious psychiatric examination because he/she could also harm another human being.
With pets or companionship, in addition to the poisonings from which I took my cue, there are sometimes disappearances and killings of cats. How legendary is the feline meat dinner I don’t know…
Last winter I saw an announcement from a lady looking for witnesses because her cat was found in her garden, brutally amputated with a cutting weapon. The animal was bled to death in atrocious agony. Facts like these leave you speechless. I sincerely hope that the lady’s denunciation will allow her to arrest the debauched that has poisoned her two dogs, and then I hope that the law does justice, without coming in half terms.

  1. Serial killers share a history of animal torture. I care for the animal, a loss of life is a loss of life, but for those who hold humans in greater esteem, they should know that animals are the precursor to humans, and these evil monsters will “graduate” to torture and murder of humans. The desire to kill, be it legal (hunting!!) or not, is disturbing, I know not what a mind entertains to want to willingly capture, brutalize, and murder another being.

    1. As I wrote: only a disturbed mind can go that far. I don’t see any difference between torturing a pet, hunting a wild animal for sport or killing a farm-animal and then reselling his/her meat.
It is monstrous, without reason and to be considered a criminal act that must be severely punished! Needless to say that breeding for food and by-products in all its forms, should be abolished, the same for the sport or competitive hunting… my “battle” continues and I try to publish in the printed press as much as possible. Until they end up censoring me 🙂

      Serena serata :-)c

    1. Those people who commit cruelty against helpless beings are sick. No distinction should be made if the act is towards a human or an animal… as there is no difference. The punishment to be imposed should be exemplary (I avoid expressing myself personally because I could offend someone).
We must therefore all have the civic courage to denounce, to accuse those who commit these acts and to do everything possible (even actively) so that this does not happen…
      A hug dear Sue :-)c
