Getting ready… for some soul’s peace! This is my “motto”… but actually, this isn’t possible as often as I spiritually need. It has been for quite a few years I promise my brother to accompany him to India. He was in Rishikesh a couple of times, and I was enchanted about his tales, in which he put all the little details. When mom last November suffered from a heart-stroke, something inside me just collapsed. I felt helpless and very confused, realizing once more that you never think enough about getting each possibility in life to do what it gives you joy or simply to give joy to someone you care about. This, in true, pushed me to ask my brother if he still wanted to take with me this spiritual journey to the source of the Ganges! We’re leaving in two weeks…
Prepararsi per un po’ di tranquillità per lo spirito! Certo questo è il mio motto, che purtroppo non è sempre possibile attuare… È da parecchi anni che avevo promesso a mio fratello di accompagnarlo in India. Lui è già stato a Rishikesh un paio di volte ed ero rimasta incantata dai suoi racconti molto dettagliati. Quando lo scorso novembre la nostra mamma ha avuto un infarto, il mondo mi è crollato addosso. È sempre nella mente l’effemerità della nostra presenza qui, ma ho poi pensato che non bisogna mai attendere per fare qualcosa di speciale per quelle persone alle quali vogliamo bene. Così ho chiamato mio fratello e gli ho chiesto se ancora voleva che lo accompagnassi nel suo viaggio spirituale fino alla sorgente del Gange.
The trip by car from New Delhi to Rishikesh is going to take between 6 to 7 hours, depending on the traffic and road’s condition. We are taking a private car from the India Easy Trip in New Delhi, the bus solution wasn’t for my brother the right one since he had a shocking experience arount10 years ago… The price for a car transfer is 8.200.- rupee from Delhi-Rishikesh-Delhi, including all taxes. New Delhi isn’t our “place of interest” but there are few wonderful places to visit. I was in New Delhi at least 10 times when flying for Swissair….
Il viaggio in auto da Nuova Delhi per Rishikesh dovrebbe durare tra le 6 – 7 ore, a dipendenza del traffico e della condizione delle strade. Prendiamo un taxi privato della compagnia India Easy Trip in New Delhi in quanto mio fratello in passato aveva avuto un’esperienza traumatica coi trasporti in India… Il prezzo da Delhi-Rishikesh-Delhi è di 8.200.- rupie incluse le tasse. A Nuova Delhi ci fermiamo solo qualche notte in quanto non è la nostra destinazione finale. Ho avuto l’occasione di visitare questa stupenda città e i suoi dintorni, durante una decina di precedenti viaggi quando ancora lavoravo come assistente di volo per la Swissair.

From Rishikesh, we will consider a trip (with overnight) to Gangotri Valley is the holy place of the Sadhu’s… at the source of the great Gange. There is as well the Gangotri Glacier which is retreating at an alarming rate, as many other Glaciers and similar, around the planet because of the rising temperature. I guess I’m positively considerating to take the chance to go up there…
Non nego che mi attrae anche l’idea si salire fino al Gangotri, che per eccellenza è il luogo sacro degli Sadhus, proprio alla sorgente del fiume Gange. Lassù tra le vette Himalayane c’è anche il ghiacciao del Gangotri che si sta ritirando ad una velocità preoccupante… ma come in molti altri luoghi del nostro pianeta, a causa del surriscaldamento gloable.
There are many other wonderful places to visit, I guess we’ll take this journey day after day, trying to mend our Soul and Mind with a lot of yoga and meditation.
Ci sono molti altri posti meravigliosi da visitare, credo che prenderemo questa giornata viaggio dopo giorno, cercando di riparare la vostra anima e la mente, con un sacco di yoga e meditazione.

welcome to india . im sure you will have an amazing experience here and visit some of the wonderful places here . rishikesh is basically pilgrimage place but the place is nice.

I am so glad you’ll be visiting Rishikesh – its my favorite place in India. It is the YOGA capital of the World and has number of ashrams for meditation and yoga.

I’m sure I will love this place and Gangotri as well (if weather permits the traveling up there). I’m following the buddist Path, but my brother spent several months in India: he has a binding with hinduist… I guess one of his previous lifes he was living in India. Dies sind aber nur meine Wunsche, wir werden dann sehen wie das Wetter ist… Ich muss schmunzeln… es war dasselbe für mich in die siebziger Jahre, lieber Ernst, ich wollte reisen durch Europa nach Afganistan mit eine Freundin. Es bleibe ein Traum, aber wenn ich dann arbeitete für eine Fluggesellschaft (Swissair: eh eh eh) ich habe viele meiner “Träume” erfüllt! Alles gute :-)claudine

ich war 15 Monate unterwegs, CH-Rom-Haifa per Schiff, 9 Monate all over Israel, dann Istanbul-Ankara-Erzurum-Täbriz-Teheran-Esfahan-Zahedan-Quetta-Pakistan-Indien-Nepal und zurück über Afghanistan-Iran-Schatt el Arab-Basra-Kuwait-Bagdad-Syrien-Istanbul-Griechenland-Jugoslawien-Italien-Schweiz. Mitten in der Wüste Belutschistan in Persien haben wir zwei Australierinnen (Frauen) getroffen, die per Stopp von Fernost nach Europa unterwegs waren!

Lo sto preparando, a dire il vero… parto il 22.2.2017. Ogni viaggio, specialmente se ti tipo “spirituale”, ha una funzione profondamente purificante per la Mente/Spirito. Vi sono luoghi carichi di un’energia spirituale fortissima… Rishikesh è uno di quei luoghi. Il “viaggio” (e mi riferisco ad ogni tipo di viaggio, anche quelli onirici) è un tema costante anche nella letteratura… a differenza di G. Verne, mi piace sentire le emozioni anche sulla pelle, conoscere nuove culture, parlare con la gente del posto. Per me il “viaggio” è una necessità che mi permette di sopravvivere all’amarezza che provo osservando ciò che mi circonda. Ma potrei scrivere a lungo… potrebbe essere un tema per un prossimo post!
